Before joining Red Stag Fulfillment Dusty had a twenty-one-year career holding various senior leadership roles at AAA Carolinas, a multi-billion-dollar organization. His roles included SVP of Operations, Chief Marketing Officer, President of AAA Car Care, and Head of Membership Innovation. While at AAA Carolinas, he played a crucial role in transforming multiple business models and driving profitable revenue growth across several business units. Notably, he increased profitable revenue fourfold and achieved an all-time high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Dusty has operations, marketing, human resources, technology, and strategic planning expertise. He is well-known for his skill in solving complex, competitive challenges, reimagining products, services, and systems, and building high-performance leadership teams. His strong belief in creating exceptional customer experiences has consistently driven revenue growth throughout his career.
Dusty has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Columbus State University, an MBA from Auburn University, and has completed the Advanced Management program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also an active National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) member and serves on both private for-profit and non-profit boards. Additionally, he has been a Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) member since 2018 and was a Vistage International member from 2007 until 2022.
1. What do you like most about working for Ty Boyd?
I love that Ty Boyd is so much more than a program to improve one’s speaking and communicating; it is a process that leads to a step-function change in a person’s ability to connect with others. It is an honor to be part of this and have an opportunity to have a positive and transformative impact on the lives of others as they unlock their undiscovered skills to communicate and connect. It is incredible to see how much a life can change through the power of effective connection.

3. What’s the number one thing you’ve learned since being a part of this company?
The positive and life-changing impact authentic connection can bring while learning to communicate positively with others is incredible and awe-inspiring.
4. What’s the best story from your time with the company?
 Wow. There are so many, but if I had to pick only one, it would be that I am still in touch with some of my classmates fourteen years after attending Ty Boyd as a student. Those relationships were formed due to the depth of connection that comes with showing up to learn, grow, and serve.
5. What was your experience like attending the Excellence in Speaking Institute as a student?
 Well, I am a slow learner, so I had to do it twice… :-) But seriously, I remember showing up to learn how to speak more effectively and left understanding the power and impact that words, well spoken, can have on the lives of others. Through the years, I have told many people that this was the most impactful professional/personal program I have ever participated in. I can’t imagine the trajectory of my life without Ty Boyd’s influence.
6. What should someone expect from going through the course?
Just show up and be ready to learn AND teach! Surrender any fear and know this is the safest place to be authentic and genuine while you learn and grow. It’s amazing!

Everyone in the Ty Boyd organization solely focuses on creating an incredible experience FOR others. No ego. No self-serving mindsets. Growth for others. That’s why there is so much magic here!
8. When you were young did you ever imagine you’d be an integral part of a global organization such as Ty Boyd, Inc.?
Ha! I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I knew I wanted to serve others and help them find their successes. I am so blessed to be able to fulfill exactly this mission while working with Ty Boyd. Besides, I am still young!! :-)

10. What are some things you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love being a Dad to Maddie, Davis, and Hyer and adore spending time with my bride, Tara. We love anything and everything outdoors, and my favorite places on earth are big spaces where we can pursue outdoor adventure experiences. Camping, boating, hiking, hunting, fishing, triathlon, you name it—we love it!
